4 mm Acid Washed Glass Beads, 200 gm 

When stainless steel is impractical and zirconium oxide unnecessary, 4 mm Acid Washed Silica Beads are a good choice for standard laboratory applications. The 4 mm Acid Washed Silica Beads are large glass beads that can be used in conjunction with smaller zirconium and silica beads to form mixed matrix disruption tubes.  The 4 mm Acid Washed Silica Beads are used to homogenize duckweed and its associated bacteria to isolate their DNA including double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) from blue crab samples. These beads are also used for yeast protein extraction, digestion, and phosphopeptide enrichment. Another unique application of 4 mm Acid Washed Silica Beads is to serve as a model for implantable devices to study the effectiveness of the crystallized drug formulations in preventing fibrosis in animals such as rodents and primates.
